I'm an old fart! I've been playing guitar now for almost 30 years! In 1984 I was twelve years old, and I saw Van Halen live, in concert. I was already a fan, but watching Eddie play and having so much fun, I knew then that playing guitar in a rock band was what I wanted to do.
2) At what age did you start listening to Metal
It was around the age of 12, which again for me was 1984. I'm a product of the 80's, so I grew up listening to Van Halen, Ozzy, Motley Crue, Ratt, Dokken, and King's X. I think bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest were some of the first true heavy metal bands I started listening to. I still love Black Sabbath. I'm so stoked about their recently announced reunion. I'm still very loyal to bands I grew up with like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Megadeth. There are some newer bands I really like too, like Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, and Periphery. With out a doubt, it has to be the original Black Sabbath. Again, I'm so excited for their new record and tour in 2012, I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas morning! I like a lot of different things. I listen to bands like Korn, which the new Dubstep stuff with Skrillex is pretty cool, Deftones, Black Label Society, Alice in Chains, STP, Mastadon, Dream Theater. I love Mike Portnoy's new band, Adrenaline Mob,. But then I can listen to John Mayer, Black Country Communion, and Chickenfoot. If it has good guitar, I'm probably digging it! Not at all. always new I wanted to be the guitar player!
King Whack is truly unique I think. We're a hybrid band, modern and retro at the same time. We like heavy grooves, melody, and vocal harmony. I think our influences are pretty apparent..Sabbath, Alice in Chains, King's X.
Always love playing live. I love everything about it! The volume, the interaction with the fans. I miss it terribly! We haven't been able to get out and play, but are planning to for summer 2012. Nothing crazy, the usual bar fights, falling down drunks, naked chicks.
